Xue Song Solo Exhibition
MOCA@Loewen, 27A Loewen Road, Singapore 248839
6 to 28 April 2013
MOCA@Loewen is proud to present iconic avant garde Chinese artist, Xue Songin a solo exhibition showcasing his most recent series Dialogue with Mondrian.
Born in 1965, Xue Song began creating collages from ashes and half-burnt objects in a cathartic fashion after a fire in his studio burnt down all of his works and belongings in the early nineties. The Dialogue with Mondrian seriespays homage to the De Stijl movement, in which Mondrian was a main contributor.
"The graphic approach, the outline of his portrait and the collage composition all remove the feeling of an individual and emphasize the icon, while the elements of the collages recall his personality, his preferences and his deeds." White Hot Magazine, New York, 24 May 2008
